Hello beauty lovers
I know red color is a close friend to many girls either as a dress or lipstick, and many girls are preparing either one or both of them for the new year celebration.
Few days ago, I was checking a makeup tutorial presented by my beauty inspiration Marlena (Makeup Geek Youtube Channel) about the perfect makeup suitable for red dress.
So I came up with this post's idea.
Why not? I will talk to you about my makeup tips/ideas a red dress or a red lipstick
But I decided to make it easier and divide the post idea into two parts:
1- Makeup suitable for red dress
2- Makeup suitable for red lipstick

Red Dress
Many girls are always thinking what makeup should I put with a red dress?
Marlena said an important tip, do not use colorful eyeshadows with red dress and yes that is so true, thanks Marlena.
I prefer to use neutral smoky eyes and nude lips (not too coraly or pinky)
Neutral smoky eyes means the use of black, browns, greys, silvers, golds and another color which is think will be very nice to mix with black or brown is burgundy and reddish brown shadow (like MAC Damson).
I also love glitters and shimmery pigments (loose shadows) to add a pop of color into the center of the lid or inner corner of the eyes and I suggest you look for MAC blue brown pigment to add little color to the smokey eyes.
Do not forget;
1- If you are using shimmer eyeshadow on the lid then it is preferred to blend the outer edges with a matte soft brown color.
2- Use the pigments (loose eyeshadows with shimmer or glitter) to add light to your eyes if you are using matte eyeshadows.
3- I do not prefer to use dark blushers.

Red Lipstick
Red lips either classic red, orangey red, pinky red or dark vampy lips are really preferred lip colors in many occasions.
I personally love red lip lipsticks and I think having well sculpted face and minimum eyeshadow work will help the color to stand out.
My first tip for using red lipstick is the lip liner, using lip liner will create borders for the lipstick and prevent from fading out. Also, I love the matte red lipsticks and no use of gloss at all because what I really want is to have gorgeous lips all night.
It is not preferable to apply the lipstick directly, I always use eyebrow angled brush to apply the red lipstick. Why eyebrow brush? because it is stiffer.
Use a small angled brush and pot concealer to clean where is required.
Now the fun part, eyeshadow... I will tell you what I'm doing and of course you can do what you like.
I do not advice to use colored eyeshadow, I always use neutral colors "but avoid smoky eyes" .
I love to apply light shimmery eyeshadow on the eyelid and winged eyeliner (black eyeliner).
Lashes are the most important part of my makeup when using winged liner.
Sometimes I like to have a twist to the normal winged liner, you have to follow NikkieTutorials for the perfect eyeliner tips, I'm placing some of those liners below.
I know this is a long post but I hope you find it useful and do not forget to like below :) xxx
